92nd Rose Festival kicks off this week

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A 92-year old tradition is back in the City of Roses this week.

The annual Thomasville Rose Show and Festival features three days of parades, art, and of course, roses.

The festivities begin Thursday night at 7 with the 35th annual Children's Rose Bud Parade.

"We're asking all the little children to come out, get in your costumes. We have floats. We have bands. It's going to be a whole lot of fun for the family and for the children. We're going to be on Broad Street and that is on Thursday," said Downtown Director Arline Hampton.

The actual Rose Show opens up at 1:30 Friday afternoon on Remington Avenue and Broad Street.
