FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) -

Ben Hill County Sheriff's investigators spent most of the day on the scene of two deaths just outside the city limits of Fitzgerald, where two people were found dead.

Late Monday afternoon, authorities said that the bodies are identified as 33-year-old Dewayne Brown and his wife, 26-year-old Octavia Brown.

A neighbor went to the mobile home at 123 Eastside Church Road to check them about 9:00AM, and got no response.

A neighbor found one of the deceased around nine Monday morning and called 911.  "They did check the house to see if there was additional victims in the house and they did find an additional victim," said Investigator Hogan.

Richard Stepp, who lives a few trailers down, says the neighborhood is normally quite and the Brown's seemed like nice people. "They just walk back and forth to get the mail, just happy people, no arguments. They haven't been here for long."

Neighbors, friends and others watch in shock as investigators gather evidence from the home of  Dewayne and Octavia Brown. "We've been here seven years, and nothing like this ain't never happen. We don't know what to do," said Stepp.

Police aren't yet releasing details into how the Brown's died, but they are searching for clues. "All we are saying is there are two people inside there dead as a result of a homicide."

"I hate to say this, but what's going to happen next? This may be the start of something, who knows?" Stepp asked.

Neighbors hope the investigation unfolds quickly and police find what they are looking for.

The Crime Unit from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is also investigating.

Investigators ask that anyone with any information call investigators with the Ben Hill Co. Sheriff's office right away.  The number is 229-426-5161
