ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commissioners are working to keep a closer eye on their spending.

This year's budget has seen no substantial changes in funding or expenditures. They held an early budget review Wednesday to make sure they have time to plan the year's events.

The EDC president said the commission has managed to keep costs down and has been fortunate to have the same funding for the last four years.

"Our budget is static. We have three partners: the city, the county and the chamber of commerce. And by agreement, they fund us at the same level each year. So we just try to live within our means within that budgeted amount," said Ted Clem, Albany EDC President.

Clem said the EDC has experienced minor increases in operating costs through payroll and health benefit costs. He also says the commission moved into new offices on Pine Avenue last month, which are a little cheaper than their old offices.
