VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Celebrity Hair stylist Dennis Stokely stopped in Valdosta today to give some Wiregrass Technical College students tips on breaking into the world of show biz.

Stokely was born in Ocilla. He's best known for working as Paula Abdul's hair stylist when she was on American Idol.

He also styled for former CNN correspondent Brook Anderson.

Today, Stokely shared career advice to cosmetology students and showed them how to style hair for the red carpet.

"It's just a full circle moment in my career; for just a county boy from Ocilla, Georgia that kind of maneuvered to the freelance world and went into hairstyling and landed in Hollywood and worked for Paula Abdul, which was the ride of a lifetime," said Stokely.

Stokely now lives in Savannah and is developing his own hair care product line.
