Andrew College honors murdered student

A south Georgia college honors a model student who was murdered on New Year's Eve.

Charles Foster was a student leader at Andrew College who took part in many service projects and founded a service group. Tuesday night, the college hosted the Charles Foster Safety First, Service First Seminar.

It included a candlelight vigil and safety tips for students. Santee Archer, the Director of the Andrew College Student Success Center, said, "We always look at safety for our students first. Whether it be on campus or off campus, we want our students to be aware of our surroundings and everything that is going on because we want our students to succeed."

Foster, an innocent bystander, was killed when a gunman opened fire inside a Columbus club.

He had transferred to Columbus State where he would have graduated next month. The university presented his diploma to Foster's parents, and the state senate passed a resolution praising him.
