Rams & Blazers to renew football rivalry

College football fans you're welcome. Two of the state's most dominant Division II football programs will once again meet after their last match up turned out to be a classic.

Albany State and Valdosta State have entered a two-year agreement that will pit the two teams together for a home and home beginning in 2014 in Albany and 2015 in Valdosta.

The Rams and Blazers renewed their rivalry in 2011 after a 4 year drought. The game came down to the final seconds with VSU kicking a field goal late in the 4th to seal the 30-27 win.

VSU athletic director Herb Reinhard says he's excited about the new deal and hopes the two schools can extend the deal for even more years to come.

The Blazers have a 14-1 all time record against the Rams. ASU's only win come in 2004.
