Sam's Club holds health screenings

There was a long line at Sam's club Saturday for folks ready to get their pearly whites checked for good health.

The pharmacy at the store gave free oral care and health screenings from 11 am to 3 pm to raise awareness on the connection between oral health and chronic disease.

The screenings had tests valued up to 100 dollars, including oral health questions, dental tablets, blood pressure, and body mass index.

"Helps them gauge when they do need to actually go in and see a physician, and like I said with this being free for them, this is sort of a pre screening. So, they can use it to notify their doctors that they need some assistance with their health conditions," said Mary Hudson, Sam's Club Staff Pharmacist.

Sam's club holds different health screenings the second Saturday of each month, except in November and December.

Next month they'll be checking patients faces for signs of skin cancer.
