ADEL, GA (WALB) -

Adel Police and Berrien County detectives are investigating a kidnapping and shooting that started in Ray City, and moved to Adel last night.

Berrien County Sheriff's investigators and Adel PD are searching for 42-year-old Charles Tyson Heard. They want him on multiple charges, including rape, kidnapping and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Ray City Police were called to Jones Street at 6:00 this morning by a man who said Heard had raped a woman in the home.

The caller told police that Heard kidnapped the woman and drove off in her car, a 2010 grey Nissan Altima with dealer tags.

Police say that Heard drove to Adel with the woman, where she escaped, and got help. They say Heard shot Corby Traylor at his residence on Kennedy Drive in Adel.

Traylor was taken to South Georgia Medical Center for treatment, and is expected to survive.

Heard is at large, and is armed. If you can help authorities, call Adel Police at 229- 896-2224  or Berrien County at 229- 686-2091
