Smallcakes in Albany welcomed Phillip Phillips home with a sweet treat ahead of a benefit concert.
A camp dedicated to helping students do well on the upcoming CRCT's wrapped up Thursday.
Community Connections of Southwest Georgia hosted the CRCT prep camp for students of two Albany apartment complexes.
More than 50 kids took part.
Camp leaders say they focused on reading comprehension along with other skills the children will need to do well on the test.
They hope this camp helps them in the future.
"As they advance on further in school knowing and remembering these test taking skills will help them even as they prepare to go off to college," said Program Ingram Tahira Ingram.
Tutors met with the students twice a week starting in March.
Students across Georgia will begin taking the CRCT next week.
