Head Start bus driver hits car

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Head Start bus crashed into a parked car, Thursday afternoon.

Police say 40-year-old Anthony Mathis hit a Mazda 626 in 400 block of South McKinley around 3:15.

There were children on the bus, but no one was hurt.

The owner of the car claims the bus driver started to drive away until she stopped him and called police.

"It's kids on the bus and he just proceeded as if nothing happened. He was just going to go ahead and do his other daily routes that you've been doing like nothing happened. That's not right," said Jasmine Felder.

Mathis is charged with striking a stationary object.
