Tift Co. I-75/Omega-Eldorado Road Interchange closes

TIFT CO., GA (WALB) -

The state DOT says that the I-75/Omega-Eldorado Road Interchange in Tift County will have lane closures for two months.

Beginning at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 16; scheduled to continue until 7 a.m., Sunday, June 16,  Interstate Highway 75, Northbound and Southbound, between mile posts 54 and 55 will be under construction.

Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation will close the inside (left) lanes of I-75 in both directions throughout this period. As part of the construction of the new I-75/Omega-Eldorado Road Interchange, crews will be placing center median barrier wall and restriping the inside roadway and shoulders.

While work activities will be weather dependent, motorist safety dictates the lane closures remain in place continuously. Drivers are urged to slow down and proceed cautiously through this work zone.
