ADICA Board looking for skate park suitors

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The ADICA Board will also begin a sealed bid process for prospects interesting in buying the downtown skate park on the east side of the river.

Downtown Manager Aaron Blair says he wants to get the property back on the tax rolls and he says there has been a spike in interest in the property lately.

"We are going to just check the pulse for the community in the private sector. We've have some interest in the past week by several people about acquiring the property so we're going to put it out there to see if it's true," said Blair.

ADICA currently owns the skate park.

In the past, they had trouble finding anyone to sign a management lease, so they took down the fence around the park and let people skate for free at their own risk.
