LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Lee County commissioners are trying to come up with an easier to get rid of yard debris.

Right now, residents have to contact a private company which then bills the county for the work. The county then includes that charge on the resident's garbage bill.

Commissioner Greg Frich said, "My recommendation tonight has been that we look at what the best option is and deliberately approach that option in full view of the people so they know exactly what we're doing and why we're doing it and that they agree with that option."

One proposal was to set aside certain days when residents could drop off debris at the landfill at no charge.

Commissioners could vote on a plan in as early as two weeks.
