Elderly woman robbed at gunpoint

LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) -

Lowndes County Sheriff's investigators are searching for a man they say robbed an elderly woman at gunpoint.

90-year-old Clara Lee was in her front yard on North Oak Street Extension around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon. Deputies say a man approached her demanding money. He held her at gunpoint and followed her inside her home. He ran off after Lee gave him cash. She was not hurt. Deputies searched the area with K-9's, but could not find the robber.

"All we know is that it's a black male about 25 to 30-years-old, was wearing a red shirt, she said he was clean shaven, and was wearing dark blue jeans," said Lt. Stryde Jones, Lowndes County Sheriff's Office.

If you have any information on this armed robbery, Lowndes County investigators ask you to call them at 229-671-2950.
