Country band's stolen instruments recovered

A South Georgia country band is thanking their fans and friends, after getting their stolen music equipment back. But they still want to know who took it.

This trailer with $20,000 worth of Highway 55's musical equipment inside was stolen March 29th from the band manager's driveway. The equipment was found Monday night. Someone called band members saying the instruments were in the woods off Century Road in Lee County. They say their instruments have special meaning, and they are thrilled to have them back.

"We thank everybody," said Highway 55 lead guitar Skyler McCrary.  "The media. All our fans on Facebook and Twitter. Keeping their eyes open. Just, oh man, it's a great feeling. Great feeling. Nice to know we can keep chugging along."

Band members think the thieves could not sell the equipment because the theft got so much attention. They'll use the instruments Friday night when they play a show in Gainesville, Florida.

Dougherty County Police are investigating.

If you have any information about the theft, call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
