ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany City Commissioners are looking for ways to make the city more attractive to outside businesses and tourists.

Mayor Dorothy Hubbard and commissioners commended the Economic Development Commission for its campaign to market the city.

An Atlanta marketing firm has been heading the image campaign. Recent events such as the 25th annual Georgia Quail Hunt proved successful in boosting the city's image.

"Well obviously how we feel about ourselves is gonna reflect in our ability to recruit people to bring jobs to our community," said Christopher Pike, City Commissioner. "So it's important for us to work on that and EDC, they recognize that as something that's vital to economic development."

The commission says boosting the city's image could attract new businesses. They say they hope to see residents jump on board as the city redefines its image.
