ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Fire Department has taken out an arrest warrant for James L. Ballard for first degree arson for setting the Albany Heights apartments on fire on March 27th.

They received word today that Ballard was already in jail in Dawson for leaving the scene of an accident on Sunday.

Authorities saw his picture on WALB.com and alerted officials in Albany about noon Tuesday.

Ballard lived in the apartments but was evicted a week prior to the fire.

Now he faces charges in Terell and Dougherty Counties, and more charges may come.
