ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A driver, who crashed into a pole and ran from police on April 1st is now in custody.

Albany Police arrested 26 year-old Demetria Harris at the Sandtrap on E. Oglethorpe Blvd around 2am Saturday, after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen.  She was booked into the Dougherty County jail and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving while license suspended, failure to maintain lane, no insurance and use of a license plate to conceal or misrepresent a vehicle ID.

Police believe Harris was driving a black Mountaineer just after midnight on Monday and failed to pull over during a traffic stop.  Authorities say then she pulled into the Fox 31 parking lot, jumped the embankment and struck a light pole before leaving the scene.
