ANDERSONVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Andersonville National Historic Site is welcoming a former P.O.W. from the Korean War to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the end of that conflict.

April 9th is national former prisoner of war recognition day, but P.O.W Bill Freeman will speak with visitors Saturday about his time in captivity. He was held captive in North Korean P.O.W. camp for more than two years.

Some of the objects he kept with him during his internment are on display at Andersonville's National Prisoner of War Museum.

"It'll be a great opportunity for visitors to ask questions and try to get a sense for what is the prisoner of war experience from a first person perspective," said Chris Barr, Park Guide.

Freeman will speak at 3pm Saturday at the museum.
