Update: Terrell County Tax Commissioner

Peggy Pritchard Peggy Pritchard
TERRELL CO., GA (WALB) -

New details in a controversy involving the Terrell County Tax Commissioner.

Wednesday, Peggy Pritchard asked county commissioners for permission to hand over tax collections just once a month.

We told you last month that commissioners reported her to the Governor for not following state law which requires Pritchard to transfer all revenue twice a month.

She told us then she was just handling business the way she always had, but that she would comply.

Wednesday, she said it's adding to her workload and asked to go back to the old system.

Commission Chairman Wilbur Gamble says they'll stick with their decision to follow state law.
