ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Six people were transported to Phoebe Putney Hospital today after three cars collided on Sylvester Road and South County Line road.

Dougherty County Police said a mother driving her three small children failed to yield to oncoming traffic when crossing Sylvester Road. Their Chevy Tahoe overturned when it was hit. The family walked away.

Two people in one of the other cars, a Ford Taurus, complained of back and neck injuries.

"Some of the people in the Taurus were trapped in there and they had to extricate them. And we didn't have any injuries or anything like that," said Lt. M.J. Wood, Dougherty County Police Department. "Usually you have to be real careful on getting them out for injuries and things like that. So it takes a little bit gettin' them out."

No one suffered serious injuries.

Police say the mother will be ticketed for failure to yield at an intersection.
