VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta Police are looking for two men who tried to rob the owner of a laundromat as the man closed up his shop.

Around 9:30 p.m. last night as Bhrat Patel and his young son were leaving the Azalea City Laundromat on Hill Avenue, two men approached him demanding money. Patel told them he had no money. As he reached for his cell phone to call 911, they hit the man then ran off.

"The offenders decide to take off and run. They don't take anything, they don't get anything, and they did not harm the child. But one of the offenders struck Mr. Patel in the ear," said Capt. Bobbi McGraw, VPD.

The owner of the store is okay but police say they have no leads. If you have any information on this assault Valdosta Police ask you to call 229-293-3145.
