Albany store owner wants armed robbers caught soon

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Shocking surveillance video and audio from a violent overnight armed robbery of the Westside Grocery Store in Albany.

Two masked men, both carrying pistols, burst into the West Gordon Avenue store about 11:20 Monday night.

One of the gunman jumps the counter while the other holds the door as two customers run.

The gunman knocks the clerk to the floor and grabs money from the cash register.

The other gunman kneels by the store front door, as a lookout.

Finally the armed robber points his gun at the cowering clerk and demands to know where the safe is.

The robber says "Where is the safe? Huh. Where is the safe?"  The clerk said "I don't have it. I don't have it. I am just the worker here."

Store owner Mike Nadeem said "Yea definitely. I'm glad my guy is OK. So yes, hopefully we find who they was."

The clerk said he thought he heard a gunshot as the armed robbers ran away.

The owner hopes someone will recognize these robbers.

If you do, you could earn a reward if you call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
