Michael Loubier is still nursing his injuries from Thursday's incident, when he was dragged behind a car in the Albany mall parking lot after a man took off with his cell phone.

Albany Police believe that man is 24 year-old Richard Bodiford.  "Luckily he confessed. Unfortunately he confessed to throwing my phone in the water."

A tip led police officers to Bodiford, who was already in the Dougherty County jail on unrelated charges.  "Apparently he had a lot of other people looking for him. My family put it up on facebook and within several hours we had a phone call."

Loubier says Bodiford asked to use his cell phone. But when he handed it over, he says Bodiford took off. That's when he grabbed onto the spoiler of the Mustang and was dragged across the parking lot.

"What the police are telling me is that because I grabbed on when I was trying to stop him, it wasn't going to be his fault even though he left me there to bleed out."

Loubier suffered a concussion and while he's still scratched up, swollen and bruised, he has no regrets.  "I'd still do it again I wouldn't let the guy sit in his car. I have a taser in the mail."

And although the arrest didn't lead to his phone, he's glad the man behind the incident is now behind bars.

Bodiford is charged with theft by taking. He's also charged with probation violation.
