ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany Herald delivery man was shot at this morning in a case of jealous mistaken identity. The suspect then went after his ex-wife.

Police say 35-year-old Michael Thomas confronted paper delivery man Joseph Graper and asked what he was doing outside his ex wife's home on Willie Pitts Road.

He told him he was dropping off the paper but as he drove away Thomas opened fire striking Graper's Nissan Altima. He then later chased down his ex-wife Santamigo Thomas to the intersection of Broad and Oglethorpe and rammed her car with his pickup truck.

Police caught Thomas following a foot chase.

Thomas is in the Dougherty County jail charged with two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a crime.
