ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

One of the country's most popular contemporary Christian bands performed in Albany Thursday night.

A big crowd filed into the Civic Center to hear Casting Crowns. The Atlanta-based band has won 14 Dove Awards, three Grammys, and an American Music Award.

One fan told us, just a few days before Easter, it's the perfect time for families to enjoy this kind of positive entertainment. Rosalyn Elombi said, "We need spiritual growth. There's so many things happening in the world now and we just need love, Christ's love. This is a holy week. There's nothing but sharing the love of God this week."

Casting Crowns has sold more than 8 million albums and has been named Billboard Magazine's top-selling Christian act each of the last four years.

Their latest album is called "Come to the Well."
