Spay/Neuter Incentive Program kicks off in T'ville

Posted: Updated:

Low income pet owners in Thomas and Grady Counties can now receive substantial financial assistance for an important pet procedure.

The Thomas County Humane Society's new Spay-Neuter Incentive Program, or SNIP, provides spays and neuters at reduced rates.

SNIP will be a year-round program, replacing one that lasted only 6-weeks each year.

"Through this program, for those who qualify, they can get a cat spay or neutered for $50 and a dog spay or neutered for $70. Regardless of size. So if you have a large breed female dog, it is a really super deal," said Shelter Executive Director Ed Williams.

To qualify, you must receive some form of government assistance or make less than $25,000 a year in a one-adult household or $40,000 for two adults.
