TIFT CO., GA (WALB) -

Four students have been taken to a Tifton hospital after a school bus ran off a dirt road Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened on Wiley Branch Road around 3:45pm.

Tift County School Superintendent Patrick Atwater says three of the children went to Tift Regional Hospital by ambulance and a fourth was taken by a parent.

Their injuries are believed to be very minor and Atwater says the school system had staff at the hospital to assist the students and their parents.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
