The Dougherty Co. School Board voted to hire outside educators to hear new tribunals for those involved in the 2009 CRCT cheating scandal.
Once the Professional Standards Commission suspends or revokes an educator's certificate, the board will hold a tribunal hearing.
Rather than the school board hearing the cases, the superintendent will appoint three outside educators to sit on the tribunal.
"A impartial group from outside can make a recommendation to the board and then they can vote their conscious. But I think this is the easiest, best, practical way to get everything that's in the system now worked through," said Interim Superintendent Dr. David Mosely.
The tribunal will present its findings to the board, which will make the final decision. There's been no word on when the tribunals will be held.
