Cold weather impacts nurseries

Greg Daniell Greg Daniell

This weeks cool, windy weather is hurting some nurseries.

ABC Nursery owner Greg Daniell says the cold snap has slowed down his business which normally picks up around Easter.

Some customers have also called asking how to protect plants during this cold snap.  The nursery covered up tender and tropical vegetation in anticipation of a slight freeze.

"Just about every spring we're always going to have a cold snap right before Easter. And it causes us to move everything inside, undo everything we've already done to get ready for spring as far as moving stuff back in," said Daniell.

Daniell says the wind can also hurt tender growth of vegetables and annuals.  He recommends covering plants with blankets or bringing them inside.
