The Tift Co. Sheriff's Office is investigating a series of theft by taking incidents.

A wallet was reported stolen from Love's County Store on Sunday and another from Moultrie Technical College on Monday by a suspect who may be connected with a host of similar thefts throughout Georgia.

One of the local victims has identified the suspect from a similar case in Athens-Clarke County as 54-year-old Antonio Hornsby, a heavy set black male described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 260 pounds.

Hornsby is also a suspect in several thefts in Cordele, Valdosta, Winder, Duluth, Braselton, Acworth, Cartersville, Henry County and a theft this week in Tifton as well.

Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough asks that anyone with information about this suspect contact the Tift County Sheriff's Office at 229-388-6020.
