MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

A special Colquitt County teacher got a sweet treat this afternoon.

Blue Bell Creameries gave Norman Park Elementary's Jeanine Wetherington 4 gallons of ice cream as a reward for being a finalist for Georgia's Teacher of the Year.

Wetherington has worked 25 years at the school and this is her 8th year working in the gifted program.

"It's quite an honor but I've realized that I'm just one teacher out of the system of great teachers," said Wetherington.

Blue Bell will hand out ice cream to all students and faculty at Norman Park Elementary tomorrow in honor of Mrs. Wetherington.

The state teacher of the year will be announced in May.
