ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

March 25 marks the beginning of holy week, and pastors from downtown Albany are joining hands to spread the Christian message.

A weeklong series of sermons will be hosted in Hines Memorial CME church at 408 N. Madison street. Each day, a pastor from a different church will preach at a service that people of all denominations are invited to attend.

One pastor started off the week by getting into character for his sermon.

"It's just a little different way of expressing the message of the Christian Faith," said Dr. Don Adams, First United Methodist Church Pastor. "Sometimes it helps folks pay a little more attention. It's different. When I'm driving to a spot like this, I get a lot of interesting stares."

Adams said he dressed up as Bartimaeus from the tenth chapter of Mark's Gospel as a way to embody the day's theme.

Services will be held daily at 11:45 each morning. Lunch will be served before and after services for $6.
