THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

92 years ago, Warren G. Harding was inaugurated as president, Albert Einstein won the Nobel Prize in Physics, and the Standard Flower Show kicked off in Thomasville.

The tradition continued today at the Thomasville Garden Center.

Growers and competitors showcased their flower creations with the hopes of taking home the coveted blue ribbon.

"A lot of the fun of the show is looking at the designs. Our theme this year is on Broadway so all of the design categories have to do with a Broadway show or a Broadway era and that's fun," said Publicity Chair Julia Singletary.

The Flower Show will pick up again Saturday morning at 10.

Admission is free, but donations are welcomed.
