THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Thomasville Police are investigating the theft of thousands of dollars worth of tire rims from a storage unit, and are asking for your help.

Two sets of 24 and 26 inch rims taken from 27-year-old Roscoe Smith's Tomlinson Self-Storage unit. Police say the lock and locking mechanism were broken and missing from the storage door.

Police say while they know what was taken, they do not know when or why.

"We don't know exactly what time of day this happened. If it happened at night or happened during the day time. But it happened somewhere between March the 15th and March the 20th. The actual time or day we couldn't say at this time," said Thomasville Police Lt. Eric Hampton.
