ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany man wants leaders of several gangs in the city to come together for a summit, to put an end to violence.

Jeffery Walker says he's already arranged for leaders of several Albany gangs to meet Friday at noon at the Goodtimes restaurant located on Newton Road.

Walker says he is a former drug dealer and wants to have the summit with gang leaders to help stop crime in Albany.

He is encouraging the public to attend the event as well.

"We want to find out what it is that the community can do to stop these guys from shooting and killing each other than people have to come together and bury them," said Walker.

Walker says there will be security at the event.

He hopes this meeting will be productive and lead to violence decreasing in Albany.
