ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commission will soon be moving to a new home.
Wednesday the EDC unanimously approved a six year lease and will be moving into the candy room on Pine Avenue.
The Economic Development Commission separated from the chamber of commerce five years ago, but has stayed in the same building.
Ted Clem, the EDC president, says while the move will reduce income to the chamber, it will also be a better working environment.
"It's in a location that allows us to do our functions as an economic development agency a little better. A private and secure place to meet with prospects," said Clem.
Clem says they expect to move into their new offices sometime next month, once the lease is finalized.
