Troopers seize $22K worth of Oxycodone pills on Ohio Turnpike

ELYRIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two men from Michigan are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 724 Oxycodone pills, worth approximately $22,000, during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike.

Troopers stopped a 2007 Chevy Impala with Alabama registration for a marked lanes violation on the Ohio Turnpike near milepost 133 in Lorain County at 5:32 p.m. Tuesday. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle.

A probable cause search revealed 724 Oxycodone pills, along with marijuana roaches and residue.

The driver, McClearry Hill, 27, of Detroit, and passenger, Thomas Johnson-Hardwick, 24, of Roseville, MI, were incarcerated in the Lorain County Jail. They have both been charged with possession of a scheduled II substance and aggravated drug trafficking, which are second-degree felonies. Additionally they face a charge of possession of marijuana, which is a minor misdemeanor.

If convicted, each could face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
