The interim sheriff in Randolph County is about to have "interim" removed from his title.
Longtime Chief Deputy Eddie Fairbanks won a special election Tuesday night to replace Sheriff Gary Yochum who died in January.
Fairbanks defeated former Florida law enforcer Harold Piper who also ran unsuccessfully for the office last year.
