Award Showcases Accomplishments of Executive Women in the Baltimore Area

ELLICOTT CITY, Md., March 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) is pleased to announce that its President and Founder Christine Pierre has been nominated for the SmartCEO Brava! Award.  This prestigious award is presented to women business leaders in the Baltimore area who combine entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community.  Winners are exemplary leaders in their companies and in the community by encouraging local philanthropy, mentoring fellow CEOs, and sustaining their companies' path of strong growth.  Each Brava! winner is selected by an independent panel of judges, and profiled in the July 2013 issue of Baltimore SmartCEO magazine.

"It is a wonderful honor to be nominated for the SmartCEO Brava! Award.  Knowing that my colleagues recognize the value of the work we are doing to raise the bar on clinical trials operations and give investigative sites a voice and community is both validating and humbling," Ms. Pierre says.

Ms. Pierre is internationally known for her expertise in clinical research site management and patient recruitment and retention in the clinical trials industry.  In this capacity, she is a frequent guest speaker at industry conferences, having addressed audiences in the United States and in Australia, Canada, Africa, and Israel.

Her most recent accomplishment has been her tireless work to launch SCRS, a trade association representing the global voice of clinical research sites.  As an SCRS representative, she has been appointed to the Board of the Metrics Champion Consortium (MCC), a global non-profit organization that develops standardized performance metrics for the clinical trials industry.  She is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI), and a member of the Board of Advisors for both the Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP) and Hands Across the Americas.

About SCRS
SCRS is a trade organization representing global clinical research sites.  SCRS' mission is to Unify and amplify the voice of the global clinical research site community. SCRS has become an active partner in industry-wide dialogues focused on improving the clinical research enterprise among the many industry initiatives.
