THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A Thomasville house is practically destroyed on the inside as the result of criminals stealing the wiring from the house. They ripped open the sheet rock to steal the copper.

If they sell the copper they stole, the value of it will be a fraction of what it will cost to replace the wiring, and then repair the walls of the home in the 200 block of Alexander Street.

Eric Hampton of the Thomasville Police Department sent this news release-

Thomasville Police officers are investigating three burglaries in the same neighborhood.

Officers were called to these residences, where it was discovered that unknown person(s) had entered the residence and took electronic items such as Flat Screen Televisions, Xbox and DVD Players.

In one burglary in the 200 block of Alexander Street, criminals removed sheet rock and paneling from the walls of every room and ripped the copper wiring from the walls.

The other burglaries took place in the 400 block of Allen St. and the 300 Block of Pine St.

Citizens are asked to be on the lookout for suspicious activity and persons in their neighborhoods. They should notify police about anything that does not seem right.

If anyone has any information about these crimes or any other criminal activity are asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 227-3302 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 227- 3305. They can also send information via TEXT A TIP.
