Albany State University President Dr. Everett Freeman tried to convince School Board members to move the Early College program off the ASU campus, Monday.
The school system spent $475,000 to help renovate Andrews Hall and has an agreement to use it for at least three more years.
After conducting a state-ordered facilities review, ASU leaders decided there's a better way to use the building, but Dr. Freeman admits it's a complicated issue.
"That's not to be explored here. There's no way an issue of that sort can be explained, resolved and brought to finality in a short period of time. It's going to take some discussion," said Dr. Freeman.
Board Members will vote next week whether to maintain the current agreement or accept a different lease that would force them to find a new location for Early College.
