ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Dougherty County principal's suspension is on hold until her hearing.  She was one of nearly 50 educators named in the state CRCT cheating report.

The 90 day suspension for Dr. Valerie Thomas, the Monroe High School Principal, was set to take effect on Friday.   But she appealed the ruling from the Professional Standards Commission which will now hold a hearing.

The PSC says she did not adequately supervise the administration of the CRCT in 2009 when she was principal at Lamar Reese Middle School.

She says that school was cleared of any cheating, and the school board did not discipline her.
