The reigning Miss Georgia, Leighton Jordan, has agreed to be a judge in the upcoming Dancing Stars of South Georgia, a star-studded event to benefit the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, scheduled for May 4 at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center.
The South Georgia Region of the chapter announced Miss Jordan's participation at a Cast Party held Saturday, March 16, at the Bistro at 219 in Tifton. The lineup of judges, hosts and cast members were revealed at the event. Karla Heath-Sands of WALB-TV and Tyron Spearman of The Spearman Agency will be co-hosts.
Miss Jordan, of Suwannee, Ga., was recruited to the Houston Ballet when she was 15 years old, and won the Miss Georgia Pageant with dance as her talent and special needs children as her platform.
Her mother and grandmother own and manage dance studios in Athens. Other judges are dance professionals Carolyn Ellis of Tifton and Jeani Synyard of Valdosta.
