THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Buying a dress for prom, homecoming, or other formal occasions can be pretty pricey.

One south Georgia organization is stepping in to help.

The Thomasville Junior Service League will hold their annual prom closet Saturday.

Women in the community donated lightly used prom, homecoming, and even wedding dresses to be sold at significantly discounted rates.

All proceeds benefit local children's charities.

"Well typically prices for prom dresses range from $200 all the way up to $500 and even more. So we are able to offer dresses at $20 and even lower than that. And these are quite nice dresses. Very new and things that I think people will really enjoy," said JSL Member Kimberly Dehaven.

Saturday's event runs from 9 a.m. to noon in the Community Room of the Everett-Milton YMCA.
