ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Worth County woman had be taken to the hospital after her car slammed into a tree this morning around 9:30 in the 1800 block of Williamsburg Road.

Dougherty County Police say it's possible Georgette White didn't realize the road she was on reached a dead end.

Her Chevrolet Impala struck an old oak tree deploying the airbag.

"She was traveling eastbound, the driver of the Chevy Impala, and we didn't get to talk her much because she was shaken up in the accident. She just misjudged the fact that she was coming up on the end of the road and ran off the road and struck the tree," said DCP Lt. M. J. Wood.

White was taken to Phoebe with non-life threatening injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt. No charges will be filed.
