ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
David Mattison is still under medical evaluation at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Friday morning after being Tazed Thursday evening by Albany Police.
APD officers used their tazer to subdue Mattison Thursday afternoon after he would not comply with their commands, and a public disturbance ensued after he ran down Slappey Blvd. naked.
APD says they will give an update on the case Friday afternoon, and WALB will have an update soon thereafter.
Mattison has a criminal record for drug possession, and we have a mug shot from the Dougherty County jail when he was arrested.
Family members took 26 year-old David Mattison to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for an evaluation after noticing strange behavior. He left the hospital and went to Red Lobster where he was asked to leave.
Police say he then walked to Slappey and 3rd Avenue where he began to strip. When he refused to stop for police, they tazed him near the intersection of Gillionville and Slappey.
Mattison was taken back to Phoebe for observation. Police say he'll be charged with public indecency and possible other charges.
