ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Two brothers have been arrested and charged for robbing an East Albany store at gunpoint on March 14th.

Police responded to a 911 call shortly before 9:30am at the Family Dollar store at 245 East Oglethorpe. They say 19-year-old Kenton Hill and 23-year-old Johnny Hill used a handgun to hold up the store. Officers caught them not long after the crime.

"They were able to obtain an undisclosed amount of money from the register, and since these events have occurred, officers have two people in custody," said Phyllis Banks, Albany Police Dept. Media Relations.

The suspects have been charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Police recovered stolen money and the gun.

Johnny Hill, the older brother, faces additional charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was arrested and charged with an armed robbery and carjacking earlier this month.
