THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A south Georgia animal shelter is asking for your help to locate a stolen recycling trailer.

This 5-foot by 8-foot trailer was taken from the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The trailer was fastened to a steel rod, topped with a hitch ball, and anchored deep into the ground.

It was used to raise money for the shelter.

"I'd hook it behind my truck, take it across town to the recycling center, and a good load we'd get about $200-$250 for it. And that goes into the pot to help feed and care for the animals and buys medication and things like that," said Humane Society Director Ed Williams.

Williams says if they don't recover the trailer soon, they'll look to replace it with something larger and more secure.
