ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
One of Georgia's largest universities is reaching out to attract more students from our part of the state.
Tuesday night at Westover High School, officials from Georgia Southern met with high school juniors and seniors and their parents.
Counselors went over admissions requirements, reviewed majors, discussed housing options, and answered questions. GSU Associate Admissions Director Amy Smith said, "These are just some small events where we want to talk one on one with parents and students to answer their questions, and so we're pleased with the number of students from the area that came out. Some drove 30+ minutes from other schools to get here, so we're happy they could join us."
Monday night, the university held a spring preview in Columbus. There will be another one Wednesday in Perry.
